NAWOJ Kano and FIDA Kano Commend Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf for Constituting Inclusive Blueprint Committee

The Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ), Kano State Chapter, in collaboration with the International Federation of Women Lawyers (FIDA), Kano Branch, has presented key recommendations and perspectives to the Kano State Government Blueprint Committee chaired by Dr. Aminu Magashi.
The two professional bodies were warmly received by the Committee and encouraged to freely share their thoughts, ideas and recommendations towards the development of a comprehensive blueprint capable of addressing the needs and aspirations of the people of Kano State.
NAWOJ Kano, led by its Chairperson, Sayyida Bahijja Malam Kabara, presented its Blueprint for the Advancement of Women Journalists in Kano State, highlighting key areas including professional development, leadership and representation, scholarships, digital journalism and Artificial Intelligence, health journalism, welfare and economic empowerment, mentorship, and improved opportunities for women journalists.
FIDA Kano, represented by its Chairperson, Her Worship, Rtd. Chief Magistrate Salma Ahmad Danbaffa, also contributed an important legal and rights-based perspective, particularly on issues affecting women, children and vulnerable members of society. This perspective is vital to ensuring that the proposed blueprint is inclusive, practical and legally sound.
NAWOJ Kano and FIDA Kano expressed appreciation to His Excellency, Engr. Abba Kabir Yusuf, Executive Governor of Kano State, for constituting the Blueprint Committee with members capable of bringing diverse expertise, meaningful ideas and constructive solutions to the development of Kano State.
The organisations also appreciated the Committee for its warm reception, openness and encouragement, and expressed optimism that the contributions of stakeholders will be carefully considered in shaping a blueprint that will positively impact the people of Kano State.
NAWOJ Kano and FIDA Kano expressed their readiness to continue supporting initiatives that promote good governance, professional development, women’s participation, justice, accountability and sustainable development in Kano State.
